Cutting funding for food programs in the United State that help schools provide meals to students that need them without a new program to replace it is destructive politics. Local Food For Schools funds school in over 40 states and the other program Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement funds soup kitchen and food pantries and helps them buy food for those in need from local suppliers.
It seems wealthy politicians have no concern for consumers that need these programs. Of course, there may be some abuse of funding for these programs but the majority of consumers that use these programs work but still do have enough to buy food with the high prices. These programs feed families that need these supplemental food programs to survive.
Many in these programs work at jobs that do not pay enough for people to live on. This is the divide or imbalance that exist in the United States and seems to be getting worse. The USDA says it has a plan to make the food program more cost effective. We want to know what this replacement program is.? There is no such program in sight. Now children, families, individuals ,and educators that depend on this funding to help people will have to suffer thanks to the cuts made.

Soup kitchens and pantries that provide food to those in need won't have enough money to buy the food. The program provides money to buy health food from local farmers and businesses. Consumers and businesses will suffer and some people will even starve thanks to the cuts in the funding.

The cuts in funding will hurt local farmers that depend on schools, food pantries, and soup kitchens purchasing the products they sell. Overall, this is just bad decision by politicians that passed this bill through the House and Senate. It should never have been passed.
The legislation may also cut Food Stamps that some families need to buy food every week or bi-weekly. The program is also called SNAP. These cuts effect about 18 million household that are food insecure. This cut in funding is an effects of cutting food programs for the poor.
